Servers:TastySpleen offers a great server directory for Quake II. Copy the desired address with the port, then type connect address:port into the console. Required Files:Quake 2 only requires the baseq2 folder from the retail version of the game for multiplayer. For servers using custom mods, you will need to read up on guides for that mod in particular. The classic retail version of Quake II on both GOG and Steam offer the base game and two Mission Packs. Exclusive to the GOG version is a collection of mods that are selectable with the built-in launcher which starts up by default. Quake II has been remastered by Nightdive Studios. It offers vastly improved performance, a free expansion pack, and the Nintendo 64 version of the base game. Both versions are accessible from the same purchase.
